Educated at University of Sheffield, Caroline is an Owner Director of the HLM leading the Education sector across the UK and international marketplace. The practice recently won the RIBA award & best student experience award for Heart of the Campus learning hub, University of Sheffield.
Caroline was pivotal in the successful management buyout of HLM Architects in 2004, subsequently growing HLM’s wide-ranging business portfolio leading to a yearly turnover of £14 million with over 250 staff. She combines strategic vision and communication skills with strong leadership, sharing knowledge and promoting design excellence from across the building industry. In 2013 Caroline was appointed Chair of the Board of Directors architect’s Llewelyn Davies part of the HLM Group restructuring the business and returning them to a positive and profitable practice in the year.
Formerly Chair of the RIBA Large Practice Group, developing the Future Leaders Programme, Caroline became a RIBA Role Model in 2015 and in September 2015 was elected RIBA’s Vice President Practice & Profession
