Education Funding Agency update: 2017 to 2018 academy revenue funding allocations process and timeline
The Education Funding Agency (EFA) will soon begin issuing the annual funding allocations for the 2017 to 2018 academic year to open academies and free schools.
What’s included in my funding allocation?
The funding allocation sets out the general annual grant funding for the academic year 2017 to 2018. It includes the detail of an academy’s pre-16 funding. For academies with sixth forms it also includes the total 16 to 19 funding amount (the full detail of that funding would be provided separately in the 16-19 funding statement which you will receive by the end of March 2017).
When will I receive my funding allocation?
We’ll begin issuing 2017 to 2018 allocations to academies towards the end of February. Academies that opened before or on 1 January 2017 should receive their allocations by the end of March 2017.
Academies that opened in February and March this year will receive their allocations a little later, by mid-April 2017.
How will I receive my funding allocation?
We’ll upload allocations to the Document Exchange section of EFA Information Exchange.
Each academy’s allocation will be uploaded as soon as it’s finalised following confirmation of the relevant local authority’s funding formula. Multi-academy trusts should note that this means allocations for all academies in the trust might not be uploaded at the same time.
